About Us

MISSION STATEMENT: Gardner Community Theatre, Inc. will enrich, educate and entertain our community by providing a superior theatre experience.

So who are we?
Gardner Community Theatre, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to bringing/expanding the performing arts to our community. Apart from our productions, GCT is also proud of its educational camps and programs, and its partnerships with organizations from all over Gardner.

What have we done?
Founded in 2006, Gardner Community Theatre spent its first three summers putting on ambitious, entertaining, big-show musicals: The Wizard of Oz, The Sound of Music, and Meridith Wilson's The Music Man. We've also put on summer theatre camps for kids and have expanded our educational efforts to include our popular, School's Out...SPOTLIGHT'S ON!! camps and workshops during the school year. In December, 2008, GCT put on the first of its annual holiday programs, the hilarious, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever and in April 2009, GCT will team with Trinity Family Church to put on our Gardner's Got Talent Variety Show. This summer's musical will be the zany, Bye Bye Birdie.

Who's involved in GCT?
Gardner Community Theatre is an organization of volunteers. Our Board of Directors, along with many of those involved in our productions and activities, help out solely because of their love of theatre and their strong desire to see the arts thrive in Gardner. It is somewhat addictive. Our shows and camps are led by the finest theatre, dance, and musical talents around, folks who share our zeal for the arts, but who have the energy, experience, and...yes...patience to work and teach within the challenges and rewards of community theatre. Cast, crew, and musicians for our productions are drawn from the marvelously deep and talented citizens of Gardner and the surrounding areas. It is a pool that we are only just beginning to tap and, given the amazing performances we've seen so far in GCT productions, it speaks well for our future.

So what's next?
Having incorporated and secured our non-profit status in 2008, GCT knows we are just beginning to lay down the foundation of what our organization will become. Of course, we plan to continue to bring to Gardner the finest quality productions, education, and activities. But we don't intend to stop there. As we grow, we will continue to work with the City of Gardner, its businesses and organizations, and its people to help keep Gardner a great place to live. We, at GCT, take very seriously our role as a Community theatre. We see the arts as an important part of the foundation that keeps a community strong and for our own future, we have challenged ourselves to help serve our portion of that pillar of our community.
